Auditions - Come Sing with Us!
Auditions are held the first rehearsal of each season at 6:30 pm. Weekly rehearsals are held at St. David of Wales Church, 324 W Cedar Street, Shelton, WA. Check our Facebook and Instagram pages for future auditions dates.
Join Women of Note for the joy of singing, the excitement of learning new music, the challenge of developing new vocal techniques and the friendship among women. If you have any questions about auditions, contact musical director Elizabeth Berndt at 360.233.7678 or [email protected]. What’s not to love about a roomful of beautiful singing voices! I also appreciate the lovely, yet challenging music selections. |

Rehearsal Schedule and Guidelines
Rehearsals are scheduled as follows:
|
Singing with Women of Note has a special place in my heart. Surrounded by the familiar voices of my choral sisters, I find joy in the music we make as well as the friendships that unite us. |
Attendance
To help ensure the best performances possible, members are expected to attend all rehearsals, arrive promptly, and stay the entire time. Rehearsals are not only opportunities to become familiar with notes and timing, but an opportunity to learn proper singing techniques and to develop fully as an ensemble. Absences and tardiness prevent that from happening.
Singers are expected to learn their parts at home and come prepared to rehearsal as much as possible. To help you learn your part, links to YouTube song performances and other Internet links will be provided each concert season.
Three absences from rehearsals are the maximum allowed during each concert period. If a member is not able to attend a rehearsal, they are expected to contact their section leader. Please see Elizabeth if you would like to discuss an exception to the three absences policy.

It is challenging, a little terrifying and greatly exhilarating to sing with a small group like Women of Note. A choir is a team and while there's no cover if I make a mistake, there is love and support among my amazing partners in song. ~ Patti Case
Uniforms
Our concert dress may vary. Christmas concerts are often formal with gowns of one’s choice. Some concerts are thematic. Often we wear black floor length skirts, or black skirts with black nylons and black shoes, or black slacks.

Member Contributions to Concert Costs
To offset the cost of music and other concert expenses, members are asked to make a non-refundable payment of $100 each concert season (twice a year). Members are encouraged to make their payment the first month of the new season rehearsals, once in January and once in September (or pay $200 all at once!).
Women of Note will not exclude anyone from singing because of inability to make the payment. In the event of serious hardship, and at the specific request of the member, the payment amount may be reduced or waived on an as-needed basis. Elizabeth Berndt has the discretion to adjust the amount of the donation or waive it altogether. For more information, email Elizabeth Berndt at [email protected] or call 360.233.7678.
